Movement 1
What everyone saw
A selective institution that suddenly could not meet its prospective students. The visible need looked like digital marketing: campaigns, social media, reach. Buy visibility until the campus reopens.
ENES
GROWTH · DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
ESEN, El Salvador. The pandemic closed the campus. The assumptions closed with it.

Movement 1
A selective institution that suddenly could not meet its prospective students. The visible need looked like digital marketing: campaigns, social media, reach. Buy visibility until the campus reopens.
Movement 2
Reach was never the constraint; conversion was. The institution had no digital admissions capability at all: no CRM, no personalized pathway from interest to enrollment, no way to know which prospect was close and which was gone. Visibility without a conversion system would have produced impressions, not students, at precisely the moment the institution could afford neither the waste nor the lowered standard.
Movement 3
The transformation and the recruiting season ran as one operation. As Director of Admissions and Communications, Maria Fabiola built the CRM and a personalized admissions web application from zero, hand-built the stakeholder map, and designed a 12-touchpoint communication sequence that reached 99.77% deliverability with zero spam flags. Campaign strategy was validated the disciplined way: focus groups with 32 students across 19 schools shaped the concept before a dollar of media ran. The 2020 campaign spoke to the moment: You belong here, bilingual, built on belonging at a time when the alternative was leaving the country. She also delivered the institution's first complete brand manual, still in use.
Movement 4
Admissions conversion rose from 0.2% to 3.5%. Digital reach grew from 6.7 million to 9.5 million users, more than 30% year over year, then accelerated to +130% year over year with engagement up 180% and qualified leads up 20% in the first five months of year three. The institution recruited its class under lockdown and kept students who would otherwise have left to study abroad, without lowering its academic standard.
There was no separate phase for transformation and a separate phase for delivery. They were the same phase.
Why this matters now
Black Oak treats digital growth as behavior change at scale, measured in decisions, not impressions. The system is the deliverable; the campaign is its expression.
